'Aha' Moments in Austin Texas with Voltage Control!

I recently walked into a room full of mostly strangers and felt totally at home.

There’s something really special about being surrounded by like-minded people. Connection comes easier. Conversations go deeper.

And, I’m so grateful I attended the Facilitation Lab Summit, sponsored by Voltage Control, to give me those experiences... and so much more!

One of my biggest aha moments came during the session led by Renita Joyce Smith, ACC, CDE. She asked us to rate ourselves on: “How much of YOU is in your facilitation?”

I gave myself a 5 out of 10.
Woah.

I’ve spent over a decade facilitating rapid innovation and design thinking for top-tier software organizations and IT groups. Along the way, I adopted invaluable ways of working.

Yet I also absorbed their culture. Their expectations.

And I realized… I’ve been carrying pieces of those organizations with me as I build Hey, Facilitator.

That question really sparked something. While I’m building my own business, how might I refine my 'own' facilitation style?

I immediately started thinking of ways to bring more of me into my work.

→ More play.
→ More curiosity.
→ More Darcie.

There were so many other ahas from Summit. And I met so many incredible humans whom I’m excited to stay connected to.

Yeehaw
